Complete US Mint Year Set (Foreign and Domestic) – 1902

For most men, this was an important year: the first Rose Bowl was played in Pasadena California. Yeah, Michigan defeated Stanford 49-0. And for the women, the first movie theater opened in Los Angeles. Teddy was president and bought the right to build the Panama Canal from the French, and the price of gold averaged $18.95 for the year while silver hit a low of 47.5 cents early in the calendar causing many to complain that our silver coinage did not have enough silver relative to the values of the coins.

But for those attempting to obtain a complete year set, there were 31 different US coins and four foreign coins minted here within our borders.
